Warehouse District Condos, Magazine Place Condos-760 Magazine Street
April 3rd, 2008 categories: New Orleans Condo Reviews, Warehouse District
The Magazine Place Condos are at the corner of Magazine Street and Julia Street. The Warehouse style condos are in two different buildings, a newer section and the original building which was an old sausage factory once owned by Swift Meats. There are 57 units are in the three story red brick buildings plus the addition with almost all the units having parking in the underground garage or adjacent parking lot.
The amenities include a large roof top viewing and bar-b-que area and a nice gym on the first floor. The parking is secure as is the courtyard by the front gate. The parking is in a garage beneath the building or in an adjacent lot.
The condos in the original building as shown above are mainly one bedroom units. Most of the two bedroom units are in the new building. Many of those are townhouse style units with the bedrooms up. Most of the medium two bedroom units over 1000sq. ft. are going to sell in the 300k-325k range depending upon the updates. The nicest one bedroom units are those on the Magazine Street side plus the units facing the downtown area.
Its worth the extra for the larger windows and city views. People do not mind paying a little more. The one bedroom units generally go between 190k and 225k depending upon the unit, the views, size, the updates and the parking.
The units that are in the main building opens to the courtyard which is always well maintained. The Magazine Place condos has a high per cent-age of second home owners since its close to town, parking is easy. Its an easy walk to the French Quarter and to River Walk. The building is very quiet and seldom see even a piece of paper in the courtyard.
Most of the units were updated by the developer and the kitchen and baths tend to all look the same. All the kitchens tend to be small and enclosed, but nicely done. All the units have stack-able washer and dryers in the individual units. All the appliances are new since the conversion that was completed in 2004 and 2005.
The roof top views are very nice looking over Julia Street and looking towards the downtown area. The units also have a small storage area in the basement where the parking is. The buyers chose the parking as they bought so there is no rhyme or reason but the parking is assigned. Being close to everything and very quiet makes this a good condo for that weekend getaway that is within walking distance to everything downtown.

I’m a renter who just moved into one of these units and they are great! There is two of us for the unit and only one parking spot though? Does anyone know how to secure another spot in the area?
